We would love the old Adelaide International Tennis Tournament to come back again to Adelaide, South Australia. Please support us by getting involved.
The old Adelaide International Tennis Tournament was last staged in 2008 and we would gratefully want the event to come back again to Adelaide, South Australia as a 7 day international event leading up to the Australian Open Grand Slam, held in Melbourne in January each year.
Unfortunately Adelaide does not have a modern, world class and internationally recognised tennis stadium that would provide new playing surfaces, be fully enclosed and have up to date indoor facilities with a seating capacity to international standard of over 7,000 seats needed for the return of the Adelaide International Tennis Tournament.
At this stage there has been no plan to commence the work needed to have a new world class internationally recognised tennis stadium built in Adelaide, South Australia and with public support there’s a immense opportunity to bring back The Adelaide International Tennis Tournament and hear the sounds of international tennis being played again in Adelaide.
South Australia has a long tennis tradition since 1914 Adelaide has been producing tennis champions from Adrian Quist to Lleyton Hewitt. And in 2014 its Adelaide’s century of SA tennis champions and with public support we may just get a new tennis stadium.
